Made in a premium calf grain leather in a luxurious shade we call 'Havana,' the colour of sweet Café Cubano.
Named after British pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who played a pivotal role in The Cambridge Satchel Co. story, this bag is the fun little sister of The Doctor's Bag.
Our clever designers have taken the structured frame of The Doctor's Bag and re-created it on a smaller scale.
The ingenious structure of the bag allows The Sophie to open almost 180º, revealing a premium cotton twill lining and giving you full, unencumbered access to your belongings. No more bailing out the contents of your bag to find your favourite red lipstick!
The iconic design of The Sophie took six years to perfect. We took time to source the right grade of soft calf grain leather and to perfect the clever hardware which allows a slim leather shoulder strap to attach to the bag (and detach from - if you wish), without distorting its lovely shape. The bag offers flexibility of wear as it can be carried on the shoulder with this detachable strap or by hand with the leather top handle. As it is part of our premium CAMBRIDGE collection, we upgraded its metalwork to gold, including its closure (which closes with a satisfyingly solid click) and the absolutely precious little key that locks it! Its generous interior is draped in luxurious cotton twill and our makers have proudly embossed the Cambridge collection name in gold on the pull tab at its opening.
