Vivienne Westwood x The Cambridge Satchel Co. - The Iconic Squiggle Satchel

From the Archive.

If you’re here, you may already know the story - our beginnings selling satchels from the kitchen table back in 2008. Our hit as the Brit-It Bag of New York Fashion Week. And of course our iconic Google Ad. But here’s another unforgettable landmark moment to add to the timeline - our collaboration with Vivienne Westwood.

Find Your Match

It’s September - a month of fresh starts, new perspectives and often the urge to reinvent yourself a little. With the need for change, it’s easy to feel spoilt for choice when trying to match something like a new bag to your new self! But not to worry - in comes the latest addition to our website, our new Find Your Match quiz, interpreted from incredibly reliable, scientifically proven, data tested resources* and designed to help you make those all-important decisions.

QEST: A long-lasting collaboration

2016: The Cambridge Satchel Co. was honoured to begin working with The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust to create a special, limited edition collection of bags to celebrate both excellence in British Craftsmanship and Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday. Like all our products, the collection is handmade at our workshop in the heart of England. Five years later, we reflect on why this collaboration is so important to us.

From the Archive.

Is it right to list the first partner in a collaboration announcement as the other party? When it is on your own website? There is no way that putting ourselves first seemed right – I mean, its Comme des Garçons…. An iconic fashion label and the first to have noticed us..

Melissa X CSC - The LFW Intervention

From the Archive.

Just in time for London Fashion Week, today we launched our exclusive collaboration with Brazilian footwear brand Melissa.

To celebrate our exciting new partnership, we headed to Soho with a 90s inspired girl gang to take over the first day of LFW. The ‘model invasion’ – a gang of eight girls – caused quite the stir outside Brewer Street Car Park before the Eudon Choi and Ashley Williams shows.

A Royal Visit

February 2020 - blissfully unaware of how the world was about to change, we were honoured to host TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall for a very special visit to our workshop in Syston, Leicestershire. We invited TRH to watch as music cases, destined for The Royal Opera House (of which Prince Charles is Patron), were made - from start to finish. The music cases sat alongside bags specially made for The Prince’s Foundation.

Make it Personal

You’ve chosen the perfect bag, you’ve picked the most beautiful colour. And yet the fun doesn’t stop there! We truly believe that a bag should be something that reflects who you are. After all, it will carry your keys, your book, your laptop - but also your memories, your present experiences and your future ambitions - for a very long time. That’s why we think that our personalised embossing service is the most fantastic of ways to make your bag unique to you.

Why a Bowls Bag?

Our bags are reinventions of heritage pieces that should never have been forgotten. Some bags are just too brilliant to not be enjoyed today - such as the satchel - so, imagine our surprise, joy and downright excitement when we found the Bowls Bag...
