This season, small bags are having a big moment. A trend that was very much born on the street rather than the runway. Our favourite style icons, including Chiara Ferragni, Alex Stedman and Jessica Minkoff, have been spotted sporting tiny bags with oversized coats, boxy sweatshirts and bomber jackets.
Things to note if you want to try this trend: the shorter the strap, the better; don’t be afraid to clash your bag with your outfit and try wearing your bag under your coat for a fresh, new season look.
This week, we decided to try out the trend for ourselves with our favourite small (but mighty) bags from our Spring Collections.
The verdict? It was quite refreshing to only carry the essentials for a change instead of lugging around lots of additional things we don’t actually need. (We have our totes for that!) Plus we got a lot of compliments about how cute our bags were!
Cute and practical? Count us in. Here’s how we styled them for in-between seasons weather.
1. Daydream Believer
Our Marketing Intern Amy wears the Mini Traveller in Peony Peach with her favourite logo sweat and skinny jeans combo.
2. Oh You Pretty Things
Our Press Officer Emma goes all romantic with a ruffle blouse and our Push Lock in Freesia Purple. The studded boots toughen the whole look up.
2. Get Off Of My Cloud
Our Marketing Assistant Rianne rocks frayed high-waisted denim jeans with a simple black v-neck shirt, the perfect backdrop for our Two Tone Cloud Bag to take centre stage.
4. Sunday Girl
Our Content Editor Sarah channels her inner pink lady with our Tiny Satchel in Freesia, nude bomber and rainbow silk scarf.
5. You Make My Dreams
Dede from our Covent Garden team makes the pastel trend look oh so wearable with her dreamy, textured lilac sweatshirt and our Tiny Satchel in Sweet Pea Blue. Her navy culottes keep things looking cool.
