It’s time to welcome back woolly tights, baggy jumpers, leather satchels and Dr. Martens boots as Autumn is on the horizon. Woohoo!
The turning of late summer into autumn marks the launch of our new seasonal collection, and this year the colour palette has been inspired by the rugged British coastline in autumn.
Think long walks with muddy dogs, rosy cheeks and salty wind that whips your hair into a frenzy. Climb the sand dunes with gusto and with tricky footing master the pebble beaches of our east coast shores to watch the stormy grey clouds settle in the sky, while the magical golden hour appears (albeit very early – goodbye long summer nights, we will miss you) and shimmers across the crashing waves that leave a foam trail on the wet sand.
The British seaside is not just fair grounds, candy rock and aggressive seagulls. The British coast has an ethereal, majestic and uplifting presence – looking out to the vast grey skies and crashing dark blue waves and soggy wet sand evokes memories of Poldark, wild freedom and as Jane Austen said of the British coast “a little sea-bathing would set me up forever”.

We took to Hastings to capture the essence of the British coast. Pebble beach, check. Rock pools, check. Unpredictable weather, check. On an unusually sunny and hot afternoon in August we waded into the sea with trousers hoicked up above our knees and satchels held high over the top of our heads as we made our way out to the rocks that line the Hastings shoreline. There was a rather precarious point when we scaled 10ft high seaweed covered rocks with the tide slowly but very surely cutting us off from the shore – what you do for the Gram hey?!
